What is a Stand Down?
Stand Downs are events where VA staff, partners, and community volunteers unite to serve homeless and at-risk veterans. These events are designed to restore hope and dignity while connecting veterans with essential services, resources, and supportive communities.

- Medical Screenings & Flu Shots
- Mental Health & Substance Use Counseling Referrals
- Housing Support
- Legal Aid
- Employment Resources
- Food & Non-Perishable Items
- Hygiene Kits
- Clothing
- Haircuts
- Lunch Provided On-Site
- Transportation from Austin VA Clinic and Additional Locations
Please note: This is a Veterans Only event. Proper identification may be required at check-in.
Hosted by and in Partnership With:
Military Veterans Empowerment Network (MVEN), Department of Veterans Affairs, VFW Post 8925, City of Austin, local service providers, and dedicated volunteers.
Transportation:
Free transportation will be available from area partners.
